Day 3: We went to the Bay of Islands, and swam with wild dolphins. We took a boat into the bay and jumped in the water with snorkels & wetsuits. At first there was silence, then we could start to hear the eerie sing-song whistling of the dolphins (like whale songs). We snapped our fingers underwater to imitate their sonar clicking. The whistling got louder & louder until suddenly - WHOOOSH - we were surrounded by playful dolphins, swimming all around, above and below us. We said "gurgle, gurgle Amazing!, gurgle." Then we drove to see a giant waterfall. We almost saw a local kid dive off of it with his friends urging him on, but he chickened-out. Since we were in the South Pacific, Tammy went on a quest to find a good asian restaurant. Eventually, we were well-rewarded.
